Dakota Fanning, Guy Pierce, and some other interesting people. Especially Kit Harrington! Watch it and weep! Shorter than Lonesome Dove, but equally thrilling and thought provoking. Why must an innocent girl be tainted and regarded as evil because of the sins of the father who believed in having sex with his daughter? Because God demands it? Oh for goodness sake! And those German church goers sat inept and voiceless. Never seen such inactive criminal business. Yes, watch this and weep!☆♡°! I absolutely loved this film, and it has to be one of my all time favourites. The Acting from all the actors was absolutely phenomenal! You simply have to watch it to believe me!

Watched this off the telly not online and it was a bloody good show. Great acting and appalling prison scenes. Vince Vaughan was really selling this story to be believed. His acting was very convincing and I thought the thugs he was playing with, really slow and dumb. Prison scenes were really disturbing and one wonders if such places exist within a prison. Violent and disturbing!

128 The Concubine 2012 15/10☆☆☆☆☆!!!

Actors: Yeo-Jeong Jo, Dong-wook Kim, Min-Joon Kim and a lot of other lovelies who made this film such a grand enjoyable caper

Director: Dae Seung Kim

Country: Korea

Outstanding story telling, every part of this film was so well executed I could find no fault anywhere. I loved it!!! I loved the costumes, the acting was brilliant and the consolidation of the story — so well done that I gave this film 15/10. A pleasure to watch! What I'm surprised about is that I did not hear of it until I started scrolling around on my tablet looking for something memorable to watch. Now, just to let you know that for me its not about the gloss and the fact its a story created for western cinema goers like most Hollywood films are. As a film lover I love stories told with truth and passion. Doesn't matter which country the film was made in. I also believe that foreign films are sometimes more emotionally draining. They think of everything in order only to draw the customer into a world they have created for your enjoyment, entertainment and certainly for your education. What I especially loved was the simple fact that absolutely every character was given veritable air time in order to add to the story. The Concubine, the Eunuchs, the maids, the women who worked day and night in a secret location to sew the garments of everyone (most likely) at court. The sex scenes were pleasant to watch and even the after effects of what a man who has been castrated looks like down there. Even the murder of the King by that vengeful girl was acted with such beautiful eroticism that it shamed all those plotting court poppers. Just shows how much power corrupts. And if it's cruel to the people we love, then I think a man or woman looses the supreme purity of loving someone without condition. It certainly taught me that love is like a running stream for some people. When circumstances help to destroy love, a woman will never forgive anyone who took that power to love someone unconditionally. And so, love is such a powerful emotion, but to then deny the eunuch at the very past moment the joy of his fatherhood, was especially heartless. She had become the very people she loathed, and did the same thing to protect her son above all things. Certainly, the eunuch could have chosen another profession in the village, a farmer, a teacher or even a doctor. But he chose to go back to the Royal Court. Possibly to enact his revenge for what they did to him. Then realised he was not as devious as all the others, and even tried to tell the young king a few home truths. Got promoted and then yep, ends up drinking his own poison that he'd set for the young King. What a tragedy! The casting was marvellous and the execution of the story superb! Well done Korea!!!!

153 Django  Unchained 15/10☆☆☆☆☆☆

Genre: Drama, Western

Director: Quentin Tarantino

Actors: Christoph Waltz, Dennis Christopher, Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Walton Goggins

Country: USA

With the help of a German bounty hunter, a freed slave sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner. The marvellous invention of lying and getting away with it, is what this film was all about for me. Absolutely riveting and 3 minutes into it, I had to go for a piss break because I was laughing so hard. I thought this was thoroughly entertaining. Christoph Schultz was exceptionally superb and Jamie Foxx utterly ruthless. Leonardo de Caprio, absolutely captivating, and Samuel L Jackson totally mesmerising! A story told and acted with such verve and spirit, and when you look very hard at the edges of how people may have behaved during this period of time, when slavery was rife, it showcases the absurdity of our lives, the shallowness of human convictions and how if you look really hard—the slaves in their human frailty and weaknesses only heightened their sense of power over their overlords without even knowing it. I'll leave religion out of it, for now....
